Martin Schoenbauer


Martin (Marty) J. Schoenbauer is the Executive Director of the China Office of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) at the U.S. Embassy to the People’s Republic of China. The DOE China Office serves all DOE Program Offices and interfaces with China Government and industry officials as well as other U.S. Agencies.

He has over 30 years of government service in leadership positions.  In 1993, he was assigned to Defense Programs which is responsible for the U.S. nuclear weapons stockpile design, maintenance and dismantlement.  In 2001, he was appointed a member of the Senior Executive Service and performed in several senior executive positions including Acting Assistant Secretary for Defense Programs, DOE.  He has also served as the Vice Chairman of the Nuclear Weapons Council Standing and Safety Committee.

Mr. Schoenbauer graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1975 with a BS and completed his MBA at George Washington University in 1982.
