Ian Barton is currently Manager of the Coal to Products Business with Johnson Matthey.

Ian joined ICI as a process engineer in the 1980s. He has held a variety of technical and commercial jobs in ICI's catalyst business, in the UK and the USA. The ICI catalyst business was acquired by Johnson Matthey in 2002.  Ian is currently responsible for catalysts and technology used in conjunction with gasification processes. This includes shift catalysts and methanation catalysts for SNG.

Ian has a masters degree in Chemical Engineering from Cambridge University in England.
