John Panek


John M. Panek is the Director of the Office of Clean Energy Collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy.

John is also the Deputy Director of the Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum (CSLF) Secretariat and also serves as the Deputy Director of the Office of Clean Energy Collaboration within the Office of Fossil Energy of the United States Department of Energy (DOE).

For the past 30 years John has worked for the DOE in a variety of positions. Initially working in a Field Office with several National Laboratories, for the past 28 years he has been working most prominently with the Great Plains Synfuels Project in North Dakota: John worked for 8 years on financing, construction, start-up and operation of the plant and subsequently moved to the DOE Headquarters Program Office where he has served as the Program Manager for the Great Plains Synfuels Project for the last 12 years.

John Panek has a B.S. Degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago and an M.B.A. from Keller Graduate School of Management in Chicago.
