Professor Liu Zhongmin is a Professor and Deputy Director of Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, China Academy of Science, and Director of National Engineering Laboratory for Methanol to Olefin.

Professor Liu’s has devoted his career to the research and development of new chemical reactions, new catalysts and new chemical processes. His research areas include processes admitting new feedstock for light olefin production such as residual oil cracking, naphtha catalytic cracking, bio-oil cracking and methanol to olefin (MTO). In 2006, he participated as a leading scientist in the first industrial demonstration test of MTO, called “DMTO”. Based on the DMTO technology, the world first commercial MTO unit was set up by Shenhua Group.

Professor Liu graduated in 1983 from Zhengzhou University and got his PhD in 1990 in Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
