The World CTL Award

The World CTL Award is conferred annually to an eminent personality who has contributed substantially to the understanding and development of Coal and Biomass Conversion.


Candidates for the 2011 World CTL Award

The election of the 2011 World CTL Award will take place in early November, 2010. Candidates can apply or be presented by peers or colleagues to the Organizing Committee before the end of September as indicated at the home page of the CTL 2011 website.

2010 World CTL Award

The 2010 Award has been granted to Mr. Zhang Jiming, Vice President of Shenhua Coal To Liquid and Chemical, for the contribution his work on direct conversion has made to the knowledge and development of CTL.

The presentation ceremony took place on 15 April, 2010 in the course of the conclusion of the CTL 2010 Conference. The trophee was presented to Mr. Zhang Jiming by Mr. Martin Schoenbauer, Executive Director of the Department of Energy Office at the U.S. Embassy in China.

2008 and 2009 World CTL Awards

- The 2009 World CTL Award was granted to Dr. Theo Lee for his pioneering scientific work in CTL and his achievements as an entrepreneur and international developer.

- In 2008, Dr. Sadao Wasaka received the Award for his scientific work in CTL processes and his contribution in international co-operations.
